Sleeping de Schiaparelli’s iconic candlestick flacon was designed by Elsa Schiaparelli for her spring 1939 Commedia dell' arte collection. The conical “snuffer” that originally came with the fragrance was inspired by Man Ray's 1939 painting, "Le Beau Temps" and was advertised as a night perfume meant to be sprayed before bed. The presentation of Sleeping de Schiaparelli is an important part of design and perfume history and is included in The Metropolitan Museum of Art collection.
